DATA AND ITS LIMITATIONS
What does a free charge point mean?
A free point in Stacja Obok is one reported in EIPA as operationally available and unoccupied. The status does not replace a reservation or confirmation from the operator before arrival.
EIPA UDT is the source
The Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Register provides a directory of locations and dynamic data supplied by operators. The service does not physically inspect devices. A station's absence from the results does not prove there is no charger at that location.
Address, entrance and parking
We check selected disputed addresses against official PRG address points. This verifies an address, not charger operation or the precise bay. We retain original EIPA data. Unresolved locations are excluded from navigation and nearby cost comparisons. Entrance descriptions are labelled as operator reports in EIPA; separate parking rules include the operator source and check date. Missing price data does not mean free parking.

How do you read statuses?
- Reported available
- The point is reported as available and unoccupied. Connector and power matching refers to the same point.
- Occupied
- The point is operationally available, but ongoing use has been reported.
- Unavailable
- The source reports operational unavailability. This does not automatically mean a physical fault.
- Unconfirmed status
- Data is missing or its freshness does not meet the service's requirements.
- Access restricted or outside opening hours
- The data indicates closure, suspension or restricted access.
Three different timestamps
The EIPA export shows when source data was prepared. “Retrieved” means it was read by Stacja Obok. “Status change” is the reported change for a specific point. An old change date alone does not prove that a fresh export is outdated.
We check the dynamic export no more often than every 90 seconds while the service is in use. Once more than 5 minutes have passed since data preparation or retrieval, we do not confirm a free space. The location directory is refreshed separately, usually daily.
Location, map and settings
Sharing location is optional. After browser permission, coordinates are used to find nearby stations. We do not create a travel history. Browsing and calculators work without an account. An optional Google account enables favourite stations to be synced and user reviews to be published. Price plans remain local to the browser even after sign-in. Infrastructure providers may process technical request logs, as with any online service.
The map loads OpenStreetMap tiles. Navigation opens Google Maps. Ratings for up to three distinct locations may load automatically when their cards enter the screen; other ratings, review text and nearby places load on request. These providers receive the requests needed to show the map or directions. Custom price plans are stored locally in the browser. We do not ask for passwords to operator apps.
